Serenje Outreach for Children's Help
(SOCH)
SOCH ('Serenje Outreach for Childrens Help') was founded in 2004 during the HIV/AIDS pandemic as an orphanage located in Serenje, a small rural town in Zambia. SOCH is registered as an NGO in Zambia (DRNGO 101/0832/18).
Since 2024, the focus of SOCH has moved away from an orphanage to that of a primary school which specifically includes boarding accommodation for children with disabilities as well as the sponsorship of disadvantaged children in our SOCH CHARITY PRIVATE SCHOOL
Mission Statement of SOCH
To enable DISABLED and other VULNERABLE CHILDREN in the Serenje district community to access REHABILITATION services, excellent EDUCATION, survival skills and secure HOSTEL accommodation.

Construction of SOCH CHARITY PRIVATE SCHOOL is close to completion - the first block of classrooms are operational with children in Reception and Year 1, plus a Special Needs class. The video below is very recent and shows progress of the site in April 2024. It is planned to open nearly all primary classes in 2025.
